Federal Funding Awarded to participate in the Environmental Assessment of the Mackenzie Gas Project

OTTAWA, August 22, 2007 - The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) and the Mackenzie Valley Environmental Impact Review Board have awarded $160,000 to seven applicants in support of their participation in the environmental assessment process by Joint Review Panel (JRP) for the proposed Mackenzie Gas Project.

Federal Funding Available For Participation in the Environmental Assessment of the Mackenzie Gas Project

OTTAWA, June 28, 2007 – The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency and the Mackenzie Valley Environmental Impact Review Board announced the availability of $160,000 to assist groups and individuals to participate to the Joint Review Panel Hearings of the proposed Mackenzie Gas Project.

 

PHASE III

Applications for Phase 3 were received until November 30, 2005. Phase 3 funding is available to help the public prepare for and participate in the public hearings for the environmental review of the Mackenzie Gas Project by the Joint Review Panel.

FEDERAL FUNDING AWARDED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW OF THE MACKENZIE GAS PROJECT - PHASE 3

OTTAWA , January 4, 2006 - The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) and the Mackenzie Valley Environmental Impact Review Board (the Board) awarded $1,670,054 to 35 applicants in support of their participation in the environmental assessment by Joint Review Panel for the Mackenzie Gas Project.

and/or provide views on the technical analysis of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to the joint

PHASE I

The deadline for applications for Phase 1 was May 19, 2004.

In Phase 1, $116,515 was made available to help 16 applicants review and comment on the draft terms of reference for the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). The EIS is a report that describes the potential impacts of the Mackenzie Gas Project. The companies proposing the project will prepare the EIS and submit it to the Joint Review Panel. The terms of reference are instructions to the proponent and establish the nature and scope of the issues that must be addressed in the EIS.
